5/6/2012 Studio Closed until Monday May 21
After what was an amazingly successful Spring Concert, the studio will be closed for the next two weeks including Saturday, May 12. We will re-open with regular hours on Monday, May 21st with our Open Technique classes (see our Schedule and Pricing tab). Thank you for a wonderful Spring season! Feel free to call the office with any questions you may have about summer camps and classes and we’ll return the call as soon as we can.
4/9/2012 Spring Concert T-Shirt Order Forms, Tech Week Schedules, and Tickets Now Available!
T-SHIRT FORM DEADLINE EXTENDED TO APRIL 14! Pre-order your 2012 Spring Concert Tees by sending a completed order form with $15 payment to Factory Street Studio 37 Ohio Ave by April 14th, or stop by the office to fill one out! Download the order form HERE.

3/17/2012 Studio Closed for Spring Break, March 18-23.
Classes will resume on Saturday, March 24 with regularly scheduled Movement Fun, Pre-school Movement Fun, Tech 1 Tap, and Creative Movement 1A classes. If you have questions or concerns, leave a message at our office voicemail at 740-594-2302! Enjoy the break!
3/7/2012 Upcoming Spring Break and Make-Up Class Schedule
The following make-up classes WILL take place in the upcoming weeks:
Monday March 12 : Tap 5/6 Workshop 4:30-6:00, Hip Hop 2 6:00-7:00
Thursday March 15: Tech 3/4 Tap 7:00-8:00
Friday March 16: Composition 4:00-5:30 and Adult Modern 5:30-6:45
Saturday, March 17 AND Saturday, March 24: ALL SATURDAY CLASSES
**** There will be NO other classes March 12-23 as this is our Spring Break. Enjoy the time off! We’ll see you March 26!
2/15/2012 Friday and Monday classes will run as scheduled
Factory Street will be OPEN and classes WILL run as scheduled on Friday, February 17 and Monday, February 20.
2/11/2012 Classes CANCELED for Saturday, February 11
Due to the winter weather advisory through Saturday morning, FSS Movement Fun, Preschool Movement Fun, Tap 1, Creative Movement 1A and Tech 5/6 Tap Workshops will be canceled and rescheduled for a date TBA. Sorry for the inconvenience; be safe on the roads!
1/13/2012 Classes CANCELED for Friday, January 13th
As per our emergency weather policy (following Athens City School closings), there will be no Composition/CKC or Adult Modern tonight, January 13th. Make-ups will be scheduled (TBA). Thank you!
1/12/2012 MLK Day Classes
Classes WILL run as scheduled on MLK Day, Monday January 16th.
1/4/2012 Classes Begin Monday January 9th!
Registration for Winter/Spring Semester will continue through the first week of classes, which begins Monday, January 9th. We can’t wait to see you in the studio!
12/19/2011 Holiday Break Schedule and Registration Info for Winter/Spring Semester
The studio will be closed from Thursday, December 22nd through January 1st. Please feel free to send registration materials to the studio via snail mail for Winter/Spring Semester or drop them off during the first week of January Mon-Fri 3:00-7:00. Classes begin Monday January 9th and all registration is due during the first week of classes.

12/8/2011 Registration Open, Herbalife Fundraiser and Winter Dance Celebration
Registration materials are now available– electronically under the “Forms” tab, or on paper at the studio. Winter/Spring Semester begins January 9.
Two exciting upcoming events!
December 10th from 2-4pm is our Winter/Spring semester Open Registration Day and Herbalife Scholarship Fundraiser! You can register your student for classes for the upcoming semester and sample Herbalife protein shakes and nutritional supplements. Herbalife products will be on sale and 20% of all sales will go to Factory Street Studio’s Scholarship fund.
December 17th is our last day of classes as well as our Winter Dance Celebration. Factory Street Studio’s Creative Kids Company presents this afternoon of student choreography to bring a semester of hard work to a close. Join us for delightful dancing and light refreshments! First show at 1:30pm, second show at 3:00pm

9/21/2011 Creative Kids Company Outdoor Performance
Be on the lookout for our Creative Kids Company performing on College Green THIS Friday, September 23 from 4:30-5:00. Enjoy this outdoor improvisational performance… rain date scheduled for October 7th. See you then!
Welcome Back, Dancers and Families! Classes begin Tuesday, Sep 6th!
Registration materials for Fall 2011 are now available for download under the “FORMS” tab or at the studio. Classes begin Tuesday, September 6th and run through Saturday, December 17th. Registration, scholarship, and work-study forms are due by the first week of classes.
I am happy and excited to welcome new families and old friends to Factory Street Studio’s 2011-2012 school year! We’ll be kicking off the year with a three-day Open House/Open Registration event from Monday August 29 through Wednesday August 31 from 3:30pm – 7:00pm. All families are invited to meet this year’s instructors, register for classes, and enjoy snacks, friends, music, and more!
I also want to thank everyone who helped make this summer a success at FSS, including the wonderful Summer Dance Camp and Movement Fun instructors, our new Administrative Assistant Darcy Shaffner, and Girl Scout Troop 1150 who took on a painting project to freshen up our studios!
This summer, Factory Street Studio was also awarded the Ohio Arts Council’s Sustainability Grant, which will provide operating support for the next two years and help us continue to offer high quality dance programming. A big “thank you” to Ginger Schmalenberg for helping us to procure this funding!
This year, the faculty and staff at FSS are excited to bring you all of the technique classes and creative movement sessions you know and love, as well as expanded Choreography and Performance Programming. This branch of our programming has been strengthened in the past two years by Ohio Arts Council support and has now found its legs! This year’s programming includes FSS’s very own performance group, the Creative Kids Company (formerly Composition class), the Capstone Project for Juniors and Seniors, and the Visiting Artists in Composition Program. More information about these projects can be found under the “Curriculum” page of this registration packet, or online.
As you look through the following pages of our Fall 2011 Registration Packet, you will find new-and-improved Studio Guidelines, Tuition System information, Registration forms and our Schedule of Classes. Please feel free to call the office at 740-594-2302 with any questions you may have. Our office hours are Mon 3:00-5:00PM and Tues – Thurs 3:30-5:30PM.
