Meet Our Teachers & Staff

Maggie Kersten

Instructor/creative director

Maggie grew up dancing in Northwest Indiana before attending Interlochen Arts Academy for High School. She trained in ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, and jazz. She then moved to Athens to attend Ohio University, and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Specialized Studies in Dance and Music. After graduation, Maggie went on to teach dance in Columbus for 6 years. She has worked with children of all ages in dance and non-dance settings since 2014.

Maggie is currently pursuing a Masters of Community Dance and a Masters of Arts Administration at Ohio University. Her goal is to make dance more accessible throughout Early Childhood Education.

amanda desantos

Amanda de Santos recently graduated from Ohio University with a Master of Arts Administration, with a specialization in Community Dance.  She grew up in Athens, OH where she danced at Factory Street Studio for 15 years.  At FSS, she studied modern, ballet, jazz, tap, and composition.  Amanda went on to Franklin & Marshall College where she received a BA in Dance.  At F&M, she developed a love and passion for improvisation and is always looking for new ideas to explore through the moving body.  Amanda has also had the opportunity to study and work at the Centre International de Danse Rick Odums in Paris, France.  Currently, Amanda serves on the board at Factory Street, where her love and deep appreciation for FSS and the community continue to grow.

abby bowman

Abby Bowman is a graduate student at Ohio University working towards her Masters in Arts Administration and recently graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography as well as a Social Media Certificate (2023). Abby grew up in Wilmington, Ohio studying numerous styles of dance at Wilmington Performing Arts Studio and Cincinnati Ballet. She also attended summer intensives throughout the years including the Joffrey Ballet School (Joffrey Spectrum) in NYC, BalletMet, Ballet Tech, and Cincinnati Ballet. Abby has always loved teaching and recently taught non-major Ballet at Ohio University. During her undergrad, she was cast in works by Dr. Christi Camper Moore, Amy Miller, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, and numerous student pieces at Ohio University. She also has experience in production work in venues including the Shirley Wimmer Dance Theater, Templeton Blackburn Alumni Memorial, and Lancaster Music Festival.

bethany moreland

Bethany grew up dancing in Columbus, Ohio. She began taking ballet classes at the age of 3 and instantly fell in love. Through high school dance remained her focus. Bethany enjoyed studying ballet and modern mainly. After high school she studied Family Sciences and Human Development at The Ohio State University. Bethany then earned her Master’s in Early Childhood Education at Muskingum University. Throughout college dance remained a favorite pastime and stress reliever. Bethany is currently a 3rd grade teacher at Amesville Elementary. She loves teaching young students the basics of dance and looks forward to another season at Factory Street Studio.

Hannah cabral

Hannah is currently pursuing a BS in Biological Sciences with a minor in dance at Ohio University. She grew up dancing in Columbus, Ohio where she studied ballet, modern, tap, jazz, pointe, acrobatics, ballroom, and hip hop. Hannah has trained with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Joffrey School of Ballet, Giordano Dance Chicago, BalletMet, Pushing Progress (NYC), Whirlwind (Columbus), Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway. Hannah grew up attending Ohio Dance Masters and Dance Masters of America conventions where she was Junior, Teen, and Miss Dance of Ohio. Hannah also received Top 12 at YAGP Indianapolis. Outside of dance, Hannah enjoys hot yoga, cooking, calligraphy, COFFEE, and spending time outside. She is super excited to share her love of dance with others this upcoming year.

Halina Dreger

Instructor

Halina Dreger is a senior BA Dance major in the Ohio University Honors Tutorial College. She is also on track to minor in Psychology. Halina was raised in Lakewood, Ohio where she studied primarily ballet for 15 years. She has a year of experience teaching at Factory Street Studio, and she has also created and taught multiple creative movement classes for individuals of all ages and abilities. After graduating from Ohio University, Halina plans to pursue a degree in Dance/Movement Therapy. She hopes to become a board certified dance/movement therapist specializing in perinatal mental health and parent/child relationships.

Sarah Braun

Sarah is a first year student at Ohio University studying Art History. She danced at Factory Street Studio for fourteen years. Growing up, Sarah’s tap teachers were very important to her and helped her find a love for dance. Sarah is very excited to share her love of dance with more tappers!

sierra belmares

Sierra Belmares is a student at Ohio University working towards her Bachelor in Fine Arts Degree in Dance Performance and Choreography and with minors in Business Administration and Retail and Fashion Product Development (2024). Sierra began dancing in 2005 and is trained in many styles. Sierra has experience in studio and competitive ballet/pointe, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, African, and hip-hop. She has participated in David Dorfmans’ two-week Summer Dance Intensive (Ohio University 2019) and has performed in Senior Dance and Movement Concerts. She also performed in the 11th World Music and Dance Concert with Ohio University’s African Ensemble. Sierra has been awarded several scholarships including the Ruiz/Lewis Memorial Dance Scholarship, The Yolanda Molnar Dance scholarship, The Wimmer/ Patterson Urban Award, and Fine Arts Talent Enhancement Scholarships. Sierra loves to dance, go on walks, play the piano, listen to music, and hangout with the kids she babysits! She is looking forward to teaching class to the Tech 1 Tap students this fall!

milo Bathory-Peeler

Milo Bathory-Peeler (they/them) is a dancer, maker, artist, improvisor, and musician from Gill, Massachusetts. After graduating from Northfield Mount Hermon School in 2020, Milo moved to Barcelona, Catalonia to study tap dance at Luthier School of Music & Dance in their Pre-Professional Training Program. Milo is now pursuing a BFA in dance through the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University and has recently returned from a semester abroad at London Contemporary Dance School, The Place. The child of a dancer and a musician, Milo is a lover of music, movement, and rhythm. Milo finds joy in jazz, morning sunlight, saturated colors, and fresh citrus.

tresa randall

Tresa Randall is a dancer-artist-scholar-educator with more than twenty-five years of experience teaching dance in community and university settings to children, teens, and adults. She is an Associate Professor at Ohio University, where she directs the Honors Tutorial program in Dance Studies and serves as chair of the master’s degree in Community Dance. Before coming to Athens, she danced professionally in New York, Philadelphia, and Santa Fe. Tresa has presented her choreography at American College Dance Festival, Dancing One Soul, Temple University, Hamilton College, and the Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Fe. As a dance historian, she presents and publishes work on dance modernism through international conferences and publications. Tresa was honored to serve on the Factory Street Studio Board of Directors for eleven years, including four years as President. During that time, she helped to create the FSS-School of Dance Teaching Artist Internship Program.

Noah Molina

Instructor

Noah Molina graduated with a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Ohio University in April 2022. He started dancing at the age of seven in an Irish dance school and continued his Irish dance training until discovering his passion for modern dance in college.  He has experience in Irish solo and group dance, modern, ballet, jazz, African, and Chinese Forms. He most recently performed in the Nukpokpo African dance performance at Messiah University (April 2022).

Nicole peterman

Nicole Peterman graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography (2023).  She is currently a graduate student at Ohio University pursuing a Masters of Arts Administration (2024).  Nicole grew up in Dayton, Ohio, and began dancing at the age of three.  She trained in styles such as ballet, lyrical, contemporary, tap, jazz, musical theater, hip hop, modern, and African.  She has grown a passion for teaching through being an assistant teacher at her home dance studio and through teaching non-major dance classes at Ohio University.  Nicole is excited to share her love for dance with others and is looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Madison Cather

Madison Cather is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health at Ohio University. Her latest work, Centripetal Outlier, premiered at the Junior Project Showing (2023). Lately, her work has been strongly influenced by collaboration between dancer and choreographer to inspire personalized movement from an original choreographed phrase. Madison is experiencing these collaborations with young dancers at Factory Street Dance Studio and her peers in the School of Dance and OU Vibrations student organization. Most recently, she performed in PYZOD by Gibney Dance’s Amy Miller as a part of Ohio University’s Winter Dance Concert (2023), and in a collaborative Junior Class piece, the spring Junior Project Showing (2023). Madison is originally from Dublin, Ohio and outside of dance she enjoys soaking in the sunshine, listening to good music, exploring local shops, creating art, and spending time with friends.

Quinn Rudy

Quinn Rudy is a senior at Ohio University studying Dance Performance and Choreography as well as Business Management and Strategic Leadership. Quinn has been dancing since she was five years old. She has studied many genres of dance including ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, tap, musical theater, modern, and African technique. Quinn has been casted in works done by Amy Miller and several student pieces at Ohio University. She has also created her own works for the Junior Project (2023), Movement Concerts (2023), and OU Vibrations Dance Organization (2021-2023). Throughout her dance career Quinn has grown a passion for performing, teaching, and choreographing. Her goal is to one day open her own dance studio to be able to share her passion for dance with the next generation of dancers. Quinn is excited to share her passion and teach and create at Factory Street!

abigail cardimen

Abigail Cardimen is a senior at Ohio University double majoring in Dance, and Exercise Physiology. She started her dance journey at the age of three at the Columbus DanceArts Academy in Dublin, Ohio where she gained technique skills and performance experience in ballet/pointe, jazz, modern, lyrical, hip-hop, and tap and was also a teacher’s assistant for summer dance camps. While at Ohio University she has been cast in multiple OU School of Dance Concerts, such as their Winter Dance Concerts, and Senior Concerts. She is also part of the Movement Organization at OU and has performed in their workshops, and annual concerts. She also has had the amazing opportunity to work with the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, and the National Dance Company of Ghana, alongside other guest artists. After obtaining her undergraduate degrees, she hopes to continue teaching dance and possibly apply to Physical Therapy School to become a PT specifically for the Performing Arts. In her spare time she enjoys watching movies, reading, coloring, studying anatomy and spending time with friends, including my sister who is also an OU dance major! She is excited to be teaching the Strength and Conditioning class at Factory Street this year and hopes by teaching this class she can combine dance and exercise physiology to help all dancers grow in endurance, balance, power and strength by working hard while having fun! She is looking forward to getting to know everyone and building a close, friendly, dance community! See you in the studio!

Christi Camper MooreInstructorChristi has a diverse background as an educator and choreographer. In addition, she has also taught dance and been an advocate for arts education in the public and private sectors, non-profit arts organizations, community settings, and at the state and national levels. She taught her first classes at Factory Street in the mid 1990’s! Although she remained connected over the years, she returned to regular teaching at the studio in 2013. Christi is currently an Assistant Professor of Dance at Ohio University, where she also heads the Master of Arts Administration program. She regularly teaches technique, dance pedagogy, composition, and arts management courses. Before returning to OU, Christ was most recently an Assistant Professor of Dance at Coker College and served as the State Arts Coordinator for the West Virginia Department of Education. Her professional choreography has been presented at various venues in Ohio, Virginia, South Carolina, and North Carolina and she also regularly collaborates with colleagues in theater, having choreographed numerous main stage musicals.  She holds a PhD from Ohio University. Christi’s research is focused on dance pedagogy, exploring how dance training, curriculum, and community shape a student’s identity within the context of their studies. She contributes to the field through her current grant award and research study, presentations, and publications. Regardless of the dance class or age group she is teaching, Christi strives to understand students’ experiences and how she can better support their dance learning and interests

Kendall hayes

Kendall Hayes is a third-year Dance Performance and Choreographer Major paired with a minor in Business and a certificate in Social Media. Originally from Holly Springs, North Carolina, Kendall trained at Holly Springs School of Dance, beginning classes when she was 12 years old. As an Instructor and Senior Company Member, she learned styles such as modern, contemporary, jazz, ballet, hip-hop and musical theater. While at Ohio University, Kendall has performed in multiple School of Dance Productions such as the Senior Dance Concerts (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024), Movement Concerts (2023), Junior Project Showings (2022), and the Winter Dance Concert (2022, 2023, 2024).

After graduation in 2025, Kendall hopes to begin working and learning in Arts Administration through a graduate program as well as to continue teaching and growing. Outside of dance, Kendall enjoys reading, listening to music, and playing with her cat, Coco!
